Gutter Cleaning in Pocono Summit, PA

Gutter Cleaning in Pocono Summit, PA

Gutter cleaning is the job most people put off until water starts pouring over the edge. By then the gutter may be holding wet leaves, shingle grit and sometimes small plants growing in the muck. That load is heavy, and it is what pulls hangers loose.

A proper cleaning is more than scooping out leaves. Pocono Summit, PA Gutter Installation crews in Pocono Summit, PA work through it in this order:

• Debris removed by hand or scoop along every run, bagged rather than tossed into flower beds
• Downspouts flushed from the top with a hose, and cleared at the elbow if water backs up
• A water test to confirm every outlet drains
• A look at hangers, seams and fascia while the trough is empty

Most homes need gutter cleaning twice a year, once in late spring after the trees drop seed and once in late fall after the leaves are down. Homes under pines or oaks may need it more often. Pine needles are the worst, because they mat together and form a dam at the outlet.

If you are cleaning more than three times a year, gutter guards are usually worth pricing. The crew can tell you which type would hold up under your trees.
